The Whole Story about Money

May 17, 2009

Greetings friends,

Candi, the owner of Single Mama Diva has generously offered me the opportunity to blog about my work as an alternative financial consultant – the work I am passionate about.

My name is Susan Boskey and I live in the state of Washington way up in what is known here as the “fourth corner”. My adult son also lives here. I myself was a single parent for my son’s teen years and boy was that the challenge of my life! I know I’m preaching to the choir here.

All throughout his life, since the early 80’s I was independently studying the topic of money and the monetary system. I had the privilege of being acquainted with Buckminster Fuller and producing one of his last lectures circa 1983. He was all about systems thinking – getting the big picture and finding out how to make a difference from there. That led me to wanting to understand the big picture about money.

I learned that money is part of a monetary system.  When we learn about the earth in school, we always learn about the solar system because we would know precious little about earth otherwise. Well, come to find out, it’s much the same as regards money. There’s no way we can know the whole story about money until we understand it as a function of a monetary system. What a concept, eh?

After nearly 20 years of independent study trying to make sense of obscure financial terminology, it began to make sense. The veil parted and I was able to see how the money system was the primary man-made system in the world that contained and affected all the others – science, education, technology, business, religion, agricultural, etc.

Then I met a high-level traditional financial adviser from Denver. She had worked with big-money clients and was very respected.  She and her husband on their own had been developing a new approach to personal finance that was based on everything I had been learning for years.  I put money from the sale of a property into my further education at that point. My son was over 18 at this point and out on his own. I was single and looking for what was next for me since being a mom pretty much defined me even though I had been working in business administration as he was growing up.

I studied and trained with this wealth institute for over 4 years, slowly developing my own clientele starting around 2001. It was the thrill of my life to be able to fully disclose how money worked along with the personal finance strategies that could help beyond the so-called tried and true concepts of conventional financial wisdom.

Since then, by popular demand of my clients, I wrote the book, The Quality Life Plan: 7 Steps to Uncommon Financial Security.

With the book now any committed person (committed is the operative word) could take themselves through the entire process I used with my clients. (FYI, I am not a licensed financial adviser and am glad for it.) Traditional planners, though well meaning almost never learn about the monetary system as an additional risk factor to consider. That means so neither can they share that with you.

Fortunately, I have learned the hidden risk of the monetary system, how you are directly affected and can share with you practical ways to reduce the impact of a debt-based system as an alternative financial consultant.  By using innovative strategies contained in The Quality Life Plan, it is completely possible to get out of debt, stay out long-term and build wealth in the process.  It’s an open secret!

What’s more, when the complete definition of wealth (as per the Oxford English Dictionary) is comprehended, it becomes perfectly clear that real wealth is being able to sustain the QUALITY of our lives – personal and spiritual well-being.  That’s what  it is all about in the big picture.  Then material wealth simply becomes the icing on the cake!

So that’s my intro and believe me, I wish I had known as a single parent what I know now about the best ways to earn, spend, save and invest given the whole story about money.

Like Candi, my mission is to be of service. Here’s a link to my monthly email newsletter archives Big Picture Personal Finance.  If you would like to be added to my newsletter list just shoot me an email with “Please subscribe” to Susan@AlternativeFinancialNow.com

Susan Boskey
